The Augmentation Lift: More Volume and Perkiness

breast aug lift

Breasts are one of the most prominent features on a woman’s body. Many women wish for a pair of full, round, and perky breasts. Unfortunately, a woman’s breasts changes in shape and size due to hormonal changes, pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, sudden weight gain or loss, and other changes.

In all these cases, breasts tend to sag and lose volume. This can affect a woman’s appearance and her self-confidence. This is why many women opt for an augmentation lift.

THE AUGMENTATION LIFT

An augmentation lift is a combination procedure in which the volume and shape of the breasts are restored. Dr. Salas uses implants to enhance the volume of the breasts while providing a lift to restore the firmness and perkiness of the breasts.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR AN AUGMENTATION LIFT?

The best way to prepare for an augmentation lift is with a consultation. Meeting with Dr. Salas and discussing the procedure in greater detail will give you a more accurate idea of what to expect.

Discuss your goals with Dr. Salas, and make sure that you disclose your entire medical history, including details of any past surgeries and drug allergies.

During the weeks leading up to the surgery, you will be asked to refrain from smoking and taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen and aspirin. These drugs can cause complications related to increased bleeding.

HOW IS AN AUGMENTATION LIFT PERFORMED?

This combination procedure starts with augmentation. Dr. Salas will make incisions in order to place the implants. The size of the incisions and their locations will vary according to many factors, including the type of implant that is being used. For instance, a saline implant can be inserted through a much smaller incision than a silicone implant.

Once the implant is in place, the next step is to perform the lift. During the lift procedure, Dr. Salas repositions the nipple and the areola and tightens the skin around the implant by trimming off excess skin. Finally, the incisions are sutured closed.

AFTER THE SURGERY

Immediately after the surgery, you will some swelling and bruising. This is a side effect of the surgery and is likely to subside gradually. Using ice packs can help bring down the swelling quickly. Dr. Salas might prescribe post-operative medications, which are to be taken as prescribed.

It will be recommended that you avoid any activities that might have an impact on your chest, since your tissues will still be healing and recovering. Take a break from any strenuous exercise routines and from playing sports.

Complete healing can take a couple of weeks. The full results of your augmentation lift will be visible once all of the swelling has disappeared.
